Crucial Safety & Experimental Prototype Notice

Project AI4Sight and the Docilis Visual Intelligence Engine (DVIE) are experimental research prototypes designed to assist visual perception. They are not certified medical diagnostic devices, surgical instruments, or autonomous safety-critical navigation systems. Users must exercise human discretion and traditional orientation aids (e.g. white canes) in physical environments.

01.Institutional Nature & Scope

Docilis Labs is an independent embodied artificial intelligence research laboratory founded by deep tech architect Luke Tsalwa in Nairobi, Kenya. Our mission is advancing foundational spatial perception, multi-modal reasoning, and embedded ARM neural acceleration for real-world assistive and robotic embodiments.

02.Open Source Code & Academic Licensing

Our lab actively publishes research dispatches, code implementations, model weights, and hardware schematics:

  • Open-Source Repositories: Code published on our official GitHub organization is governed by the specific open-source license provided in each repository (typically MIT or Apache 2.0).
  • Academic Attribution: Any benchmark reproduction, derivative model training, or deployment of DVIE architectures must provide proper citation and attribution to Docilis Labs and Luke Tsalwa.
  • Trademarks & Brand Assets: The names "Docilis Labs", "DVIE", "Project AI4Sight", and official logomarks are proprietary intellectual assets of Docilis Labs.

03.Acceptable Use & Ethical AI Guidelines

You agree not to utilize Docilis Labs models, vision pipelines, or edge binaries for:

PROHIBITED

Lethal autonomous weapon systems, target acquisition, or military combat payloads.

PROHIBITED

Non-consensual mass biometric surveillance or clandestine visual tracking of individuals.

04.Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer

All prototypes, code, and documentation are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Docilis Labs and its researchers shall not be liable for any hardware damage, thermal stress, spatial misdetections, or physical accidents resulting from the experimental deployment of models or prototype hardware.

05.Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these terms or laboratory collaborations shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
